Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, drive along the Leh-Kargil Highway beside the River Indus and kick off your Sham Valley exploration. Start with a patriotic visit to the Hall of Fame (closed on Mondays), a museum by the Indian Army showcasing heroic tales, war memorabilia, and a moving tribute to our brave soldiers.
Next, stop at the revered Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a sacred shrine built in memory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Continue to the mysterious Magnetic Hill, where vehicles appear to roll uphill against gravity, followed by a visit to the awe-inspiring Confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers at Nimmu; one emerald green, the other shimmering blue.
Then, explore the 11th-century Alchi Monastery, known for its ancient murals, intricate woodwork, and Tibetan-Kashmiri architecture. On your way back to Leh, visit the tranquil Likir Monastery, home to a magnificent 25-foot gold-covered Buddha statue.
Return to Leh by evening for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, begin your thrilling journey to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (18,390 ft), the second-highest motorable road in the world. Located about 39 km from Leh, the pass offers breathtaking views of the Indus Valley and the towering peaks of the Zanskar and Saser ranges.
Nubra, also known as Ldumra or the Valley of Flowers, lies at an altitude of 10,000 ft between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges. On arrival, check-in at your camp or hotel in Hunder, a quaint village nestled in the heart of the valley. Spend your evening exploring the serene surroundings and experience the peaceful local lifestyle. Overnight stay in Nubra.
Start your day early with a visit to Hunder’s sand dunes, where you can enjoy a unique Bactrian (double-humped) camel ride set against a dramatic backdrop of snow-capped peaks. On the way back, explore the charming town of Diskit, the administrative hub of Nubra Valley; perfect for a quick walk through the local bazaar.
Later, embark on a scenic yet adventurous drive to Pangong Lake via the rugged Shyok and Agham Valleys. Though some patches are rough, the ever-changing landscapes and remote villages of Changthang make the journey unforgettable. Arrive at the stunning Pangong Tso, nestled at an altitude of 14,000 ft, and be mesmerized by its shifting blue hues. Check-in at your lakeside camp or hotel. Dinner and overnight stay near the lake.
Wake up to a serene morning by the stunning Pangong Lake, soaking in its ever-changing hues. After breakfast, begin your drive back to Leh via the high-altitude Changla Pass (5,486 m), one of the world’s highest motorable roads.
En route, explore Ladakh’s spiritual side with visits to iconic monasteries: Hemis Gompa, the largest of the Drukpa lineage; the grand hilltop Thiksey Monastery, home to a two-storey Maitreya Buddha statue; and Shey Palace, the former royal residence and ancient capital of Ladakh.
Continue your journey with a photo stop at the famous 3 Idiots Rancho School (Druk Padma Karpo School), known for its eco-friendly design and cinematic fame. If time permits, visit Sindhu Ghat, a scenic riverside spot that becomes vibrant during the Sindhu Darshan Festival.
