Tentative Itinerary
Arrive at Guwahati airport or railway station and drive to the scenic hill station of Shillong. En route, stop by the breathtaking Umium Lake, a serene spot surrounded by pine-clad hills. Nestled at 1,496 meters above sea level, Shillong, known as the “Scotland of the East”; welcomes you with its cool climate, colonial charm, and picturesque waterfalls. Enjoy an overnight stay in Shillong.
After breakfast, head out for a scenic drive to Cherrapunjee; one of the wettest places on Earth and home to stunning landscapes, caves, and waterfalls. Explore natural wonders like Arwah Cave, Mawsmai Cave, Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sister Falls, Eco Park, Garden of Caves, and Thangkharang Park. Enjoy panoramic views of the Bangladesh plains from the cliffs. On your return to Shillong, stop at the beautiful Elephant Falls, where water cascades down fern-draped rocks. After breakfast, journey from the misty hills of Shillong to the wild heart of Assam; Kaziranga National Park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kaziranga is famed for the iconic One-Horned Rhinoceros and its rich biodiversity. Drive through changing landscapes to reach this wildlife haven, home to tigers, wild elephants, swamp deer, and water buffalo. Check in at your hotel and relax amid nature. Start your day with an early morning elephant safari through the misty grasslands of Kaziranga, spotting rhinos and other exotic wildlife up close.
