Tentative Itinerary
Arrive in Paro on one of the world’s most stunning mountain flights, offering breathtaking views of Himalayan peaks, alpine forests, and the Paro Valley. As you descend, catch glimpses of Paro Dzong and the river below. On arrival, our representative will greet you and transfer you to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital. Check in and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Begin your day in Bhutan’s traffic light-free capital, where traffic policemen guide vehicles with charmingly theatrical hand gestures. Visit the serene National Memorial Chorten, the majestic Buddha Dordenma statue, and the Takin Zoo to meet Bhutan’s unique national animal. Enjoy views of the striking Trashichho Dzong and explore the National Library and Folk Heritage Museum. In the afternoon, stroll through the Handicraft Bazaar and Centenary Park. Later, take a relaxed walk from Clock Tower Square to browse local shops. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Drive from Thimphu to Punakha, crossing the scenic Dochula Pass at 10,000 ft, Bhutan’s first high-mountain pass in the west. Stop to admire the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens, fluttering prayer flags, and, on a clear day, views of Gangkar Puensum, the world’s highest unclimbed peak. Visit the Royal Botanical Park at Lamperi, home to red pandas, rare birds, and a tranquil natural lake.
Continue through Thinleygang and Lobesa villages. Take a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of Bhutan’s beloved “Divine Madman,” Drukpa Kinley, famous for fertility blessings and vibrant wall paintings.
In the afternoon, explore the iconic Punakha Dzong, beautifully located at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers. Rich in history, it was built in 1637 and later hosted the coronation of Bhutan’s first king. Evening at leisure and overnight stay in Punakha.
After breakfast, drive to the stunning Gangtey Valley via the historic Wangdiphodrang Dzong, perched on a ridge overlooking key crossroads of Bhutan. This charming old town with narrow lanes serves as a gateway to central and eastern Bhutan.
En route, hear the legend of Mahakala, Bhutan’s protective deity, who guided the Shabdrung to build the iconic dzong in 1638. Discover how Punakha and Wangdi valleys become winter havens for high-altitude farmers.
Arrive in Gangtey, one of Bhutan’s most breathtaking open valleys. Explore the peaceful landscape, home to the rare black-necked cranes that migrate from Tibet each winter, inspiring Bhutanese folklore and devotion. Visit the serene Gangtey Monastery before returning to Punakha by late afternoon. Overnight stay in Punakha.
Begin your scenic morning drive back to Paro via Semtokha and the Babesa Expressway. Pause at Chuzom Check Post to stretch your legs and take a brief walk across the bridge, soaking in the river views. On arrival in Paro, check in to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to relax or explore on your own. Overnight stay in Paro.
Start your day with a visit to the iconic Paro Dzong, followed by the National Museum (Ta Dzong), known for its impressive collection of natural and historic artifacts. Continue to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and holiest temples, dating back to the 7th century.
In the afternoon, explore the scenic ruins of Drukgyel Dzong and drive up to the base of the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Spend your evening at leisure, perfect for strolling through Paro town and shopping for local crafts. Overnight stay in Paro.

Important Travel Information for Indian Nationals Visiting Bhutan
Indian citizens aged 18 and above must carry a valid Passport or Voter ID card. For those under 18, a Passport or Original Birth Certificate (with a legal guardian) is required.
Bhutan Entry Permit:
Indian nationals are eligible for a permit on arrival. However, if you’re flying into Paro Airport, digital copies of the required documents must be submitted at least 15 days before travel.
Documents Required:
A digital copy of your Passport or Voter ID (passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel date)
A recent digital passport-size photo

Essential Bhutan Travel Etiquette & Guidelines for Travelers
Photography:
Always ask permission before photographing people, events, or objects.
Photography is not allowed inside temples, monasteries, and dzongs, only permitted in courtyards.
Religious Artifacts & Antiques:
Do not touch or climb on any religious artifacts, antiques, or sacred items, even ruins.
Buying religious antiques is strictly prohibited.
Dress Code:
Remove hats before entering temples, dzongs, or monasteries.
Avoid wearing shorts or half-pants while visiting religious sites.
Communication Etiquette:
Keep your phone off or on silent inside religious areas.
Speak softly to maintain the serene atmosphere.
The Bhutanese Way:
Point using a flat, open hand, not a single finger.
Walk in a clockwise direction around religious monuments.
Use designated bins for trash.
Never touch murals, ritual items, clothes, books, or sacred objects.
No smoking or drinking at religious places.
When unsure, ask your guide or a local.
