Day Wise Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Phuentsholing from IXB/NJP
  • Arrive Phuentsholing the border gate between Bhutan and Jaigoan,West Bengal meet and greet, complete all immigration formalities and day at leisure.O/n at Phuentsholing
Day 2 Phuentsholing – Thimphu capital city 150 km 5 hrs
  • Morning we transfer to the capital city Thimphu, the drive is scenic as you will be passing through mountains. Check in the hotel and you could relax at the hotel or take a walk to the main town Norzin Lam. O/n at Thimphu .
Day 3 Thimphu – capital city
  • When in Thimphu you got to prepare for surprises where this unique capital has no traffic lights but adopted its own version of the British – Indian colonial times traffic policemen who can startle you and memorize others with his elaborate hand gestures, sometimes he may be signaling stop when it looks like go but don’t worry you can observe the flow and notice his smile as you stare at him. Sightseeing includes visit to the National Memorial Chorten a stupa dedicated to the third king of Bhutan and Buddha statue, Takin Zoo where you will find national animal of Bhutan and drive downhill stop at the junction to take a glimpse of Trashichho Dzong. Proceed towards National Library and Folk Heritage Museum. Afternoon take a short walk to Handicraft Bazaar to view the traditional arts. Afternoon at leisure or take a walk to the main city from Clock tower square for shopping.. O/n at Thimphu.
Day 4 Thimphu – enroute excursion to Dochula pass 10,000ft - 25 km 45 min drive & transfer to Paro 55 km 1.5 hrs drive
  • After breakfast transfer to Dochula pass 10,000 ft on the way stop at Hongtsho village and at the immigration check point please get a stamp in your permit. Next to the check point you will find small local stalls selling fresh juicy local apples available for sale in plastic bags you could try some. You will be driving through the first mountain pass in the western part of Bhutan. Stop at 108 Druk Wangyal chortens on the top of the pass where the ridges are draped in colorful prayer flags greet you. You could take three rounds and offer prayers, take some best photo shots. If the weather is clear during the day or in the morning you will be able to see the highest peaks towards the north, Gangar Punsum among others is the highest unclimbed peak (24,000 ft) in the world. Afternoon transfer to Paro and afternoon at leisure. O/n at Paro.
Day 5 Paro sightseeing
  • Morning drive to Paro valley and later visit Paro Dzong, the National Museum housed in a round fortress called as the Ta Dzong considered being one of the best natural history museums in Asia where it has a fine collection of natural and historic artifacts. Kyichu Lhakhang the monastery dates back to 7th century and is one of the oldest and most sacred. Afternoon visit one of the fFarm houses, view point of Drukgyel Dzong, a 17th century fortress that used to keep invaders from Tibet and in 1951 and Tigers Nest view point. Evening at leisure. O/n at Paro.
Day 6 Paro – Phuentsholing 140 km 5 hrs
  • After breakfast transfer to Phuentsholing check in the hotel and day at leisure.O/n at Phuentsholing.

  • Morning transfer to IXB/NJP with good memories of Bhutan.

Thimpu

Day 3 - National Memorial Chorten
A stupa dedicated to the Third King of Bhutan, built in his memory. It’s one of Thimphu’s most iconic landmarks where locals gather to offer prayers and walk around the stupa.
Day 3 – Buddha Dordenma Statue
A massive golden Buddha statue overlooking Thimphu valley, symbolizing peace and prosperity. The site also offers panoramic views of the capital city.
Day 3 - Takin Zoo (Motithang Takin Preserve)
Home to Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin, a rare and unique species found only in Bhutan. A short, peaceful stop to witness this mythical-looking animal.
Day 3 - Trashichho Dzong (view point)
A majestic fortress-monastery that serves as the office of the King and government. From the viewpoint, you get a scenic glimpse of its impressive architecture and riverside setting.
Day 3 - National Library
Preserves ancient Buddhist manuscripts and texts, some dating back centuries. It’s a cultural treasure trove reflecting Bhutan’s rich spiritual heritage.
Day 3 - Folk Heritage Museum
A traditional Bhutanese house turned museum showcasing rural lifestyle, customs, and traditions. It offers insight into the daily lives of Bhutanese people.
Day 3 - Handicraft Bazaar
A lively marketplace featuring locally made handicrafts, textiles, and souvenirs. A great spot to explore Bhutanese art and shop for authentic keepsakes.
Day 3 - Clock Tower Square & City Walk
The heart of Thimphu town, lined with shops and cafes. A casual stroll here lets you experience the urban vibe of Bhutan’s capital.
Day 4 - Dochula Pass (10,000 ft)
A mountain pass adorned with 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens and colorful prayer flags. On clear days, the pass offers stunning views of Himalayan peaks including Gangar Punsum, the highest unclimbed peak in the world.
Day 4 - Local Stalls at Hongtsho Village
Small roadside shops selling fresh, juicy Bhutanese apples and local produce. A simple yet authentic experience of Bhutanese village life.

Day 5 – Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong)
A fortress-monastery with impressive architecture and rich history. It serves as both a religious and administrative center for the Paro district.
Day 5 – National Museum (Ta Dzong)
Housed in a unique round fortress, this museum is considered one of the best natural history museums in Asia. It displays artifacts, paintings, weapons, and historical relics.
Day 5 - Kyichu Lhakhang
One of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred monasteries, built in the 7th century. It’s an important pilgrimage site with deep spiritual significance.
Day 5 - Farmhouse Visit
